Choice of the Ninja App Reviews

Not much to it

Many of the "choice of" games have been great (Sabres of Infinity, Life of a Wizard, Slammed) and have provided meaningful choices with lasting impacts, allowing you to truly change the way the story progresses, and as such have replay value. This is no such game. It seems that your choices matter little, as do your allies and your enemies and your stats. There are small differences possible in the story, but barely worth playing through again to see. Definitely not worth $3.

AMAZING! SO WELL WRITTEN

but it is too short. Like so short its inexcusable. I noticed that people complain that CoG are too short often. An easy fix would be to apply some kind of minimum pages for a game. People want stuff as long as Exodus, so CoG should set a rule where games need to be around as long as a single Exodus chapter.

Cool

I love the game, its totally cool. But every time I try to restart the game it wont restart. I just get stuck at the ending.

Still awesome

Great game overall, and nice job referencing Bleach when I tried to name my guy Ichigo, but you let Itachi slip through, so HA! Got around it!

Great improvement!

I enjoyed the first version of Ninja, but the updated version greatly expands the original story and makes it a more in-depth game. I was disappointed that there were no new missions following the ending, just more detailed versions of the old ones, though the expansions for those missions are fun and intriguing. Honestly, it feels like this version should have been the original, but now that the foundation has been properly laid, I, along with all the other Ninja fans, eagerly await new missions and adventures! Especially cant wait to see what happens with the main characters love interest!

Huge improvement

I played this game when it was first released and was frankly unimpressed. Thankfully, after the update the content in this game has improved to the point that it is worthy of the CoG title. All new (and vastly improved) endings, revamped missions, and an excellent romance plot have been added. It is a little sad most people wont even stop back to see how much better this game has become.

Amazing!

One word. Amazing! Amazing story, character development and thought provoking choices. Definitely worth it and I look forward to the next one! I will definitely get it

Disapointed again

I found that most of the time I was reasonably bored with it but when I finally was getting mild interest in the game it abruptly ended. Too much money for too little content and too short of a story. If a second game of this is realeased I am not buying it. Im only giving an extra star because I feel pity. Also, side note, I was a fan for choice games for many years and am severely disapointed in how poor the games have been these past few years.

okay

the story is decent but it ends too soon and on a super abrupt note, though i havent played too many times, so there might be more to it. it does have good flavor options though and it also seems like the game might be getting updates in the future?

Disappointing.

This was not what I hoped it would be. I wanted darker writing with more stealth, action, suspense and kick-buttery. What I got was a kids novel fit for ages 8-12. Even then the characters were shallow, choices not very ninja, story not very thrilling, fighting not very entertaining. Over all unless your a kiddo that hasnt read much this is hardly worth the time unless you just want to say you read a ninja story. I played one time then lost interest. In my younger days when choice books were the rage this would have been published in limited print...

Too short

I must agree with many, your choices do not have much impact on the game, The story is short and definitely not worth three dollars. However its not a bad story, the worst part of it is it ends on a cliffhanger.

Weak

I agree with Unidraconus review that this ones more for kiddies. I dont think much research went into this either as far as Japanese culture or how ninjas were trained or operated. A regional ninja academy? Really? Complete with Hogwarts-like instructors for different subjects? Seemed like the author was just adapting his/her American suburbian experience to a "ninja school". Maybe Im wrong but that doesnt sound historically accurate to me. Anyway, story is predictable and the fight scenes are disappointing and few and far between. Overall, very generic with ninja overlay.
